Backup
A daily backup you actually own
The optional backup add-on produces one downloadable archive of your whole organisation every day — files, version history, folder structure, permissions, members, share links and a slice of the audit log.
The daily download link
Once a day at the hour you choose, Docplume builds a single zip and emails a signed download link, valid for 24 hours, to every owner and admin plus any extra recipients you set. You can always fetch a fresh link for any of the last seven archives from Billing → Backup, or pull the latest automatically through the API.
What the archive contains
A plain zip — no proprietary format, no tool required. A manifest.json indexes everything, and every file has a recorded SHA-256 so the archive can be checked offline.
- The current version of every document, under files/ by its folder path.
- Older versions, under versions/, when version history is included.
- A manifest recording each document’s id, size, SHA-256, mime, tags, metadata and lock state.
- Your folders, permissions, members and share links (links carry no token or password — only a has-password flag).
- The last 24 hours of the activity log as a CSV.
Verify it yourself, offline
Every archive is listed in Docplume with its SHA-256 checksum. Check the file you downloaded with the tool your computer already has, and compare the two.
shasum -a 256 docplume-acme-2026-10-20.zip # macOS and Linux
certutil -hashfile docplume-acme-2026-10-20.zip SHA256 # Windows
The same checksum means you hold exactly the archive Docplume made.
